Results of the Satisfaction Survey on the process of Registration to the ORDEM DOS FISIOTERAPEUTAS - October 2021

The Installation Commission of the Order of Physiotherapists, within the scope of the Integrated System of Quality Warranty for the services rendered, has prepared a questionnaire about the enrolment process to evaluate the satisfaction of the enrolled members.

After completing the registration process, members automatically receive the SATISFACTION QUESTIONNAIRE and are invited to answer it anonymously and optionally.

We present results obtained by the end of October 2021.

We reinforce the duty and the OBLIGATION of all Physiotherapists to be registered in the Order. 

All physiotherapists must be registered in the Order to exercise their activity. Do not be subject to possible sanctions under the Law and the Order of Physiotherapists.

The debates of the candidates for President of the Portuguese Institute of Physiotherapists

Os debates dos candidatos a Bastonário da Ordem dos Fisioterapeutas.

Last Monday, 1st November took place the first debate between the two candidates for the position of President of the Portuguese Physicalioterapists' Order, António Lopes and Emanuel Vital, moderated by the journalist Marta Reis (sub-director of Jornal I and Jornal SOL). The event was broadcast live on the YouTube platform.

These debates are organised by National Association of Young People in Physiotherapywith the collaboration of the Commission Instaladora da Order of Physiotherapists.

After having seen what the VOTING BALLOTS look like, as well as how to make your choices, it is important to remember the following:

  • After clicking on "Insert Votes into Ballot Box" a screen will appear confirming that the Votes have been successfully inserted. At this stage it is no longer possible to change your vote;
  • End of the voting process. You can close your browser window.

Still on the Electoral Act of November 15th, and after having informed HOW TO VOTE, in the IDENTIFICATION of the Electoral Act and the VOTING BULLETINS, it is now important to know and take into account some aspects regarding the VOTES themselves:

-After choosing the options on the various ballot papers you will have access to the summary of your vote. At this stage, you can still change your voting direction. For that you should click on "Alter", going back to the ballot paper you wish to change and choose the new option;

-After choosing all the options you should click on "Insert vote in ballot box";

-Only after clicking on "Insert Vote in Ballot Box" will the votes be considered;

Keep track of all the steps, we would like to point out that from today until the 12th of November mailings concerning the electoral campaign will be sent, whose content is of the entire responsibility of the respective List identified.

The first meeting of the Electoral Commission was held on 20 October, in accordance with the electoral calendar.

The Electoral Commission, at its 3rd meeting, held on 24 October 2021, admitted the five (5) candidate lists to the Statutory Bodies of the Order of Physiotherapists.

Electoral Campaign

As defined by the electoral calendar, the electoral campaign begins today, Monday 25 October. It will run until 13 November, the day before the elections on the 15th.

The Electoral Act and the Ballot Papers

Following the communication on the elections of 15 November, and after having spoken about the ways to vote - ELECTRONIC or IN PRESENCE - and about the process of receiving the e-mail with the VOTER ID and the SMS with the PIN/VOTING KEY (which will be sent on 13 November), it is now important to talk about the act of voting itself.
 
When entering the electronic voting platform, the Electoral Act is identified, the member of the Order will clearly see the logo of the Order of Physiotherapists and the description of the Election taking place;
You must click on "Continue".
Three (3) ballot papers are then provided, for the three (3) organs to be voted on - GENERAL COUNCIL / BASTONARY / JURISDICTIONAL COUNCIL - with different colours and clearly indicated:
 
 - Statutory Body (top left)
 - Lists to be voted for (in the middle of the ballot paper)
 - Option for Blank Vote

Note: It will be possible to view the names of the candidates of each List, by hovering the mouse over the button to the left of each of the options.

In the list of candidates, you should click on the Option you wish to vote for, using your mouse or, in the case of a smartphone, your finger/finger pen.
Clicking on "Next" navigates you to the remaining ballot papers.

Pedro Maciel Barbosa

Carlos Sand

Carlos Areia has been a physiotherapist since 2013, and has worked in various hospitals, clinics and clubs in both Portugal and the UK. He began his academic career at Oxford University in 2016, where he led a clinical trial comparing physiotherapy vs surgery in anterior cruciate injuries in 32 hospitals in England. In 2018 she moved to the neurosciences department, where she developed her own studies on remote monitoring of vital signs, which were implemented during the pandemic. Here he discovered his passion for data, and in 2022, he joined Digital Science as a Data Scientist. He completed his PhD earlier this year, and has more than 60 publications in journals such as The Lancet, BMJ, Cochrane, among others. He is also an honorary lecturer at Oxford Brookes University and a consultant in clinical research.

Eduardo José Brazete Carvalho Cruz

PhD in Physiotherapy from the University of Brighton, UK. Post-Doctorate in Epidemiology from the National School of Public Health at the New University of Lisbon.
Coordinator of the Studies and Planning Office of the Order of Physiotherapists. Coordinating Professor of the Physiotherapy Department of the School of Health of the Polytechnic Institute of Setúbal (ESS-IPS). President of the ESS-IPS Technical-Scientific Council. Coordinator of the Physiotherapy Department at ESS-IPS. Integrated Researcher at the Comprehensive Health Research Centre (CHRC) (a partnership between FCM-UNL, the National School of Public Health, the University of Évora, the Lisbon Institute of Global Mental Health and Santo Espírito Hospital, Terceira Island, Azores).

Sara Souto Miranda

Sara Souto Miranda has a bachelor's and master's degree in physiotherapy from the University of Aveiro, and a postgraduate qualification in adult respiratory physiotherapy from the same institution. In 2023 she completed her double doctorate in Rehabilitation Sciences/Health, Medicine and Life Sciences at the Universities of Aveiro and Maastricht (Netherlands) and is currently working as a technical-scientific advisor to the Studies and Planning Office (GEP) of the Order of Physiotherapists, and as a guest lecturer at the Piaget Institute in Vila Nova de Gaia. As a member of the Respiratory Research and Rehabilitation Laboratory at the University of Aveiro (Lab3R), she has carried out applied research in which she has assessed and treated patients with respiratory pathology, having taken part in 6 research projects. Throughout her career she has published 19 scientific articles in international peer-reviewed journals with an impact factor, 1 book chapter and more than 50 abstracts in conference proceedings. She was a research volunteer at the Ciro rehabilitation centre (Centre for expertise in chronic organ failure) in the Netherlands, and is currently a member of the Guideline Methodology Network of European Respiratory Society. She was honoured by European Lung Foundation e European Respiratory Society for carrying out patient-centred research, by the Directorate General for Higher Education with a merit grant for his master's degree, and by the Ciro Centre with a grant to support research abroad.
