The President of the Portuguese Physiotherapists' Association, António Lopes, and the 1st Vice-President of the Board, Nuno Cordeiro, met this Thursday, 6th April, with the Executive-Directorate of the NHS.
Like the audience with the Minister of HealthThe purpose of the meeting requested was to address several common themes related to the quality of health care delivery in physiotherapy, namely the implementation of physiotherapy units in the organization models of the National Health Service, characterizing the physiotherapist's consultation, the intervention records and the unique health record system.
The understanding of the Order of Physiotherapists regarding the importance of integrating physiotherapy in Local Health Units was expressed.
Considering that the creation of new Local Health Units represents a positive evolution in the construction of planning instruments and organisation of the SNS, with relevant gains in health, through optimisation and integration of care, proximity of care, management autonomy, reinforcement of primary health care, always focusing on the users, the Order of Physiotherapists is available to collaborate with the Executive-Directorate of the SNS for the best organisation model.
